Outsourcing Issues of Wood Supply Chain Management in the Forest Industry

Abstract Supply-chain management of the forest industry focuses on improving client services which requires efficient collaboration between organizations in practice. Therefore, third party logistics (3PL) and fourth (4PL) companies were analyzed using a survey inductive organizational gap-analysis. The supply-chain 3PLs asked for better quality information from factories logistics. They also needed online control provided by their subcompanies. In addition to quality, all (3PL, 4PL, clients) will need new technology synchronizing operations efficiently. this respect, findings show how want adopt 4PL’s coordination mechanism creating advanced triadic relationships companies. This knowledge can be used engineering 3PL 4PL towards franchise-provided multiclient supply chains; cloud-service applications groups wood-harvesting transportation are especially important future. Implications background theory practice discussed mainly perspective decentralized wood procurement.
